After falling short in her initial title bid, Virna Jandiroba made a strong return, delivering a commanding performance against Tabatha Ricci in the co-main event of UFC Vegas 115.
Jandiroba wasted no time, securing her first takedown just 40 seconds into the fight, though Ricci managed to get back to her feet briefly. However, Ricci couldn't remain standing for long as the former title challenger executed another takedown near the fence, immediately taking her opponent's back.
Ricci displayed solid defense from this vulnerable position, preventing Jandiroba from inflicting significant damage or attempting submissions, yet the round clearly went to Jandiroba on the scorecards.
The second round saw Jandiroba secure another early takedown, settling into Ricci's guard in the center of the Octagon. Despite spending most of the round on her back, Ricci managed to stand up with 70 seconds remaining. Unfortunately, she was unable to mount any substantial offense before being taken down again just before the round concluded.
The third round mirrored the previous ones, though this time Ricci found herself in the top position momentarily. Predictably, this didn't last long, as Jandiroba easily escaped and quickly re-established her dominance.
