With the flyweight title now vacant, two formidable female fighters are set to make a significant move towards championship contention in Třinec.

The rising Slovakian talent, Veronika Smolková (10-3), will face off against UFC veteran Ivana Petrović (8-4), who is dropping down in weight, at OKTAGON 98. This pivotal contest for the future of the flyweight division is scheduled for Saturday, November 21, at the Werk Arena in the Czech Republic, promising an exciting display of top domestic talent.

Smolková enters the bout on an impressive eight-fight winning streak, having secured finishes in her last three opponents before the conclusion of the second round. Under the guidance of former double champion Lucia Szabová, Smolková has flourished over the past year, defeating notable fighters like Stephanie Egger and Lisa Kyriacou. A victory over another UFC alum in Třinec would solidify her status as a premier prospect at just 24 years old.

Petrović, a former ARES FC champion, has previously competed against high-caliber opponents such as Jamey-Lyn Horth and Juliana Miller. She made her OKTAGON debut in May, triumphing over Danielle Misteli via TKO in the first round. The Croatian fighter now aims to establish herself in the flyweight division and showcase her best performance to date in November.

The event also features promising young talents Tomáš Mudroch and Jakub Batfalský, who are slated to compete against opponents yet to be announced.
