Paulo Costa Dominates Azamat Murzakanov at UFC 327, Targets Archrival Next

Paulo Costa has announced his arrival in the UFC light heavyweight division with a decisive victory. At UFC 327, Costa faced Azamat Murzakanov and appeared to be the larger fighter in the octagon. Despite the added weight, the 34-year-old showed no signs of slowing down. From the outset, Costa landed precise leg kicks to impede Murzakanov's movement. In the latter part of the first round, the Brazilian even managed to knock his Russian opponent down.

Having defeated two consecutive Russian opponents, Paulo Costa has now set his sights on his archrival, Khamzat Chimaev. Chimaev, the reigning UFC middleweight champion, is slated to defend his title next month at UFC 328. Following his defense, "Borz" intends to move up to the 205-pound division. If the newly crowned light heavyweight champion Carlos Ulberg's leg injury keeps him sidelined for over a year, a potential interim 205-pound title fight between Chimaev and Costa could be on the horizon, assuming positive outcomes next month for the Chechen-born Emirati fighter.
