Real Madrid Youngster Faces UEFA Youth League Ban If He Plays Against Man City

The upcoming Champions League Round of 16 match between Real Madrid and Manchester City carries a significant consequence for young "Los Blancos" talent, Thiago Pitarch: a potential ban from the UEFA Youth League. With Real Madrid facing squad challenges, and Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappe's availability uncertain, the match promises to be intense, and Alvaro Arbeloa's side is considered the underdog.

A primary concern for Real Madrid is Bellingham's absence from the first leg. The midfield is expected to feature Fede Valverde, Arda Guler, and Aurelien Tchouameni. The fourth spot in the center of the pitch will likely go to Eduardo Camavinga, who recently recovered from an injury. However, 18-year-old La Fabrica graduate Thiago Pitarch is also being considered as a potential candidate.

UEFA rules state that players who feature in three or more Champions League matches in a single season cannot play in the UEFA Youth League in the same season. Pitarch has already played in two Youth League matches (in the play-off against Benfica). If he steps onto the field against City, he will reach the limit. However, Pitarch himself is currently focused on helping the first team conclude the season strongly, rather than on a potential Youth League ban.
