Barcelona are reportedly aiming to secure a new left winger this summer, considering the uncertain future of Marcus Rashford. While the Manchester United loanee has performed well since his arrival in July, the Catalan club is not ready to make his transfer permanent at this moment. Consequently, they have begun exploring alternative options.

Victor Munoz is a prominent name on Barcelona's shortlist. The 22-year-old has showcased an impressive first season at Osasuna following his departure from Real Madrid last summer. His recent debut for the Spanish national team, which included a goal against Serbia, has caught the attention of Barcelona.

However, Barcelona faces a significant hurdle in Real Madrid's involvement. Los Blancos hold a buy-back clause in their agreement with Osasuna. Crucially, they also possess a right of first refusal, which they intend to exercise should their rivals, Barcelona, attempt to sign their former player this summer, as reported by Diario AS.

Real Madrid themselves have yet to determine whether Munoz will be brought back, a move they could execute this summer for €8 million. Barcelona would only be able to acquire him for their Spotify Camp Nou stadium by meeting his €40 million release clause. Nevertheless, the Bernabéu club is resolute that this will not be permitted.

Munoz set for a big summer

Munoz's recent change of agents might suggest a potential transfer this summer. Alongside Barcelona and Real Madrid, he is being monitored by several Premier League and Serie A clubs, all of whom are prepared to approach Osasuna when the appropriate time arises.

There's also a possibility of Munoz representing Spain at the 2026 World Cup, which would further enhance his market value. Should this occur, Real Madrid might decide to act and bring him back. As long as they refrain from doing so, Barcelona will continue to monitor his situation closely.
